Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.
A senior representative commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
