'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the dramatic closing stages of his team's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith picking up a fan's glasses amid the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful effort from outside the box, and the defender quickly converted the rebound before sprinting toward the crowd to mark the goal, with fans congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory sealed an extraordinary turnaround given the team had trailed 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. In the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a fan trying to get our attention and Josh Key and I were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win earned a upcoming match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a team Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that range," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right wing-back after the team changed tactics. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the City players who paid tribute to the way the underdogs played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It feels like they always find their target and they are adept at dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just thread a ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be focused throughout of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and attention just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He became a favorite as a popular figure across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford City, before he departed Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was probably a slightly green going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without real physicality. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

His progress reflects that growth for both domestically and internationally, excelling for Northern Ireland, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including two matches encounters against a football powerhouse. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Early Days

It has been an incredible journey for the kid from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his parent, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His only game for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they played on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was closed owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a long trip and it was freezing," he comments, grinning. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved quite easy, because I reached the point where I understood I wasn't going to make it at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm slowly climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a minibus driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's nice to spend time with the guys but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would blend in with fans on London's Central line after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
